Harry was KIA by German Artillery fire when they took Castellonorato the Germans fought them with fierce resistance South at Monte Campese on 12 May 1944, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, Marksman Ship Badge, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

Harry is buried/mentioned at Sicily-Rome American Cemetery and Memorial, Nettuno, Città Metropolitana di Roma Capitale, Lazio, Italy.
