Warren was born  on July 1, 1921 in Zebulon, Wake County, North Carolina.

Father, Charles Daniel Pace.

Mother, Annie Loretta (Guess) Pace.

Sisters, Ora G., Lilian M. and Annie R. Pace.

Brother, Percy P., Johnnie D., Fred D., Robert L. and Charlie B. Pace.

 

Warren enlisted  the service at Camp Croft, South Carolina in Oct. 15, 1942 with service number # 14165087.

 

Warren was a Waist Gunner in the 527th Bomber Squadron.

Warren was KIA on a Bomber Raid to Bremen, Germany, when the where hit and the plane went down on Nov 26, 1943, and he is honored with the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WWII Victory Medal.

When the plane was hit and wend down they bailed out, some off them were killed by Hostile Civilians and others were picked up by the Germans and send to a Stalag POW Camp.

 

Warren is buried at Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial, Neuville-en-Condroz, Arrondissement de Liège, Liège, Belgium.

Warren also has a Memorial Grave at Pace Family Cemetery, Zebulon, Wake County, North Carolina, USA.

William C. Adams’ Aircraft B-17F with serial number 42-29675 was on a bombing mission to Kiel in Germany. On 13 June 1943 60 B-17s from the USAAF attacked the U-Boat installations in Kiel. 16 B-17s from 95th BG flew at the front in the formation which had already been attacked on their way to the target. As usual German fighters attacked the front of the formation. Before it had passed the target, 7-8 B-17s from 95th BG were lost. One B-17 out of control crashed into another, and only 6 B-17s from 95th BG made it back to base and one of them was destroyed in a forced landing.  Aircraft 42-29675 crashed off the coast of Lolland, Denmark.

Robert entered  the service from New Jersey with service number # 12046726.

 

Robert was KIA in a dogfight with two BF-109G and crashed near Goirle, Holland, on Nov. 30, 1943, and he is honored with an Air Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, Army Presidential Unit Citation, European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, WW II Victory Medal.

 

And he is buried at Ardennes American Cemetery and Memorial
