Franklin enlisted the service in Ohio with service number # 6145413.

 

Franklin was KIA during the amphibious Landings at Lingayen Gulf, Philippines, when the LST 460 was attack by Air , on Dec. 21, 1944, he is honored with a Purple Heart, Combat Action Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.

 

Franklin is buried/mentioned at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial  Manila, Metro Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.
